Ivey climbs to top of Money Makers list
Phil Ivey didn't make his way to the top spot through mega-sized pots and multimillion-dollar sessions at Full Tilt Poker. Instead, he's been grinding his way to more than $1.5 million in earnings for the month in some smaller sessions.
One of those sessions took place Sunday against Matt Hawrilenko in a Limit Hold'em game on Full Tilt Poker. After a two-and-a-half-hour session of heads-up $2,000/$4,000, Ivey came out ahead with an extra $300,000 in cash.
That's just the tip of the iceberg, as Ivey had accumulated more than $1 million through 1,609 hands through the previous few days against Hawrilenko.
All the losses put Hawrilenko just under $40,000 short of being the player with the top losses for the month. He's just behind lady marmelade, who was a big donor to Patrik Antonius' success early in the month.
